History
[edit]Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti was established in 2005 by Acharya Lokesh Muni with the stated objective of promoting nonviolence and social harmony. The organization has conducted initiatives aimed at addressing social issues, including caste discrimination, poverty, drug addiction, and environmental degradation.[2][3]
The organization has held events attended by Indian political leaders and dignitaries, including former President Pranab Mukherjee and former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.[4]
Activities
[edit]Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti focuses on interfaith dialogue and social cohesion through conferences, educational programs, and awareness campaigns. The organization has been involved in the establishment of World Peace Centers, with the first inaugurated in Gurugram, Haryana, in 2025. A second center is planned in New Jersey, United States.[5]
The organization has received recognition from the United States Congress for its contributions to global peace initiatives.[6]
World Peace Centers
[edit]Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti has initiated the establishment of World Peace Centers, with the stated aim of peace, nonviolence, and social harmony. The first such center was inaugurated in Gurugram, Haryana, India, in 2025.[7] This inauguration was attended by several Indian political and spiritual leaders.[8][9][10]
The Gurugram center aims to address global issues such as violence, conflict, environmental degradation, and social inequality through initiatives designed to foster spiritual consciousness and ethical values. Plans are underway for a second World Peace Center to be located in New Jersey, United States. These centers are intended to serve as hubs for interfaith dialogue, educational programs, and community outreach related to peacebuilding.[11]
