Which is of course completely false.
Most of the popular&otaku franchises are made into a drama CD, even stuffs like Inuyasha, Aria, Naruto or Fate/Stay Night.

@Ruu from your plan to read list, there is for example Taiyou no Ie or God Child that were adapted into drama CD.

Can someone give me recommendations for #13: "Read a manga serialized in a shoujo magazine"? I don't really know much about magazines and serializations as I only recently started reading manga.

Since I don't know your tastes, a little bunch, of different types, relatively recent:

One of the last big titles would be Orange, I really enjoyed it.
For a more « conventional » and shorter work, My Fair Neighbor is pretty good.

For something more adventure/fantasy, Reimei no Arcana is excellent.

Banana Fish is an excellent thriller/action manga.

And if you want to try a more experimental and obscure work, Shikou Shounen is quite neat.

Took a break from the challenge for a couple of months, now I'm looking for a reccomendation for #60. Preferably something that's already on my PTR and completely scanlated or on-going.

Hey there! I need something for my #60 (a recomendation from someone here), so here I am!

I like lighthearted works, nothing too heavy, dramatic or leaning on horror. Any demography is fine; about genres, I like romance and slice of life. But I'm sorry to say that I'm looking for completely scanlated titles.
Preferably something from my PTR since I'm doing the challenge to try and clean some titles out of it, lol But it's fine if it isn't.

Thanks!

From your PTR, I melted while reading Shinkuu Yuusetsu. It is a really soft manga, like most Bikke's works.

Need some suggestions/recommendations for a few of the challenges:

25. Read a manga that started publishing last year
49. Read a manga centered around folklore or mythology
60. Read a manga recommended to you by another Manga Reading Challenge participant in the discussion thread

For #60, my preferred genres are slice of life, comedy, mystery, and psychological. I don't want something too long, either.

Thanks!

Looking for Manga recommendations for #60, open to all types of manga as long as there not extremely long (More than 200 chapters if 20 pages per chapter). Do not have a preference as stated above.

Thank you for any recommendations.

@MSD60 I recommend you:

Crows since you liked Beelzebub and GTO, so Crows should be enjoyable. It is quite long tho, 98 chapters, but since the manga was published monthly the chapters are 50 pages long. It might be a bit too much.

Annarasumanara and About Death since both are very good Manhwa and the genre doesn't get enough recognition, most people would generally find About Death to be the better one of the two. These two are more psychological and tragedies. Both are pretty short.

Ibitsu (15chapters) if you want horror, and finally Itoshi no Kana if you want lighthearted romance.

Happy reading.

For 25 I just went with a oneshot, this one to be more precise.
I need a rec for 49 too, so can't really help here :/

For 60 i recommend Annarasumanara and About Death, both psychological slice of life manhwas, the first one being 40something chapters long and the other one 27.

Happy reading.

I think Donten ni Warau most likely fulfills the criteria

But here are some recommendations just in case: Olimpos
Mushishi Buddha

And I'd be happy if you could recommend me some mangas for challenge #60
Anything goes preferably not long
Thanks

@MegaMan-Zero

Ty for recommendations, didn't think about Mushishi.

About Death A pretty short Manhwa, psychological slife of life tragedy kinda. (20something chapters)

Tokyo Ghoul since you liked the anime, I really think it's worth a read, especially since season two was pretty much the opposite of what happened in the manga. (144 chapters)

I dont know if you like japanese-delinquent type manga, but if you do I recommed Crows. (90 chapters, but 50 pages each)

Just a nice story: Suiiki (12 chapters)

Happy reading :)

Hello everyone, hope everything is going smoothly for you.

I used to be a lot more active on the challenge last years, but well, even if I haven't posted this time around, I'm still enjoying doing the challenge at my own pace.
Now I have only 3 item left and, guess what ? I need a recommendation for our famous number 60. ^^

I know that it could be a little difficult, but I would be really happy to have a "personal rec" : maybe after looking at my fav or highest rated manga on my list, you could see some manga that should definitely be to my tastes and I'm lacking ? Usually, I tend to prefer more unknown things or with a strong "personality" (art style; paneling; etc..).
I'll be sure to return the favor with recommendation of any sort if in need.

One last thing though, I'd like someone other than AudioTsunami to give me rec. (don't take it personal ^^ , it's just that it feel like you're one of the only guy giving rec. , and I would want one from a user I don't already know).

@Dullboy Seeing how nobody has replied yet, I'm not sure how well these fit your tastes but, I'll try my best (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و ̑̑

I don't know how particular you are about picking up a manga of an anime you've finished but I believe Aku no Hana's manga adds a lot to the story and is something that definitely shouldn't be looked over. Just in case you do, the manga picks up where the anime left off on chapter 20.

I also think you might find this woman's works charming. She captures the settings wonderfully, giving them an authentic feel. I would personally recommend Otoyomegatari but if you want something completed then Emma is good as well. Her stories don't have an all too deep meaning which is why I'm hesitating recommending but if you want personality her works definitely have a unique style blessed by her love of history (Fun note, she claims to have multiple volumes solely on corsets just so she could draw some of her manga set in England, truly dedicated).

First, thanks a lot for responding.
Second... I feel very bad. ^^
I feel very bad because to my surprise, I see that Otoyomegatari and Emma don't appear in my list, but I did read some of those two manga ! (My guess is that at the time I read part of them, I wasn't adding all my "dropped" or "on-hold" manga.. I think I read Otoyomegatari up to 2/3 volumes, something like that).
Those two are not bad manga, that's for sure, but then Otoyomegatari is not finished and, I don't know, Emma didn't felt that interesting to pursue my read (not because "nothing happen", because I like stories like that actually, but maybe just the england setting or overall tone, not sure).
But maybe now that I have a lot more manga in my list, I could re-try it and see the qualities I was missing at first, I'll think about it.

And then for Aku no Hana, I always wanted to stick with the anime (which I loved for a lot of reason people hated it ^^), and I didn't wanted to spoil me by reading the manga.. But after all this time, and the fact that it's pretty clear that there will never be a second season.. maybe it's time to abdicate.

Anyway, I'll think about it, so thanks again. (and if you need help for some rec. , just ask , I like to help)
