| @Pullman I know some of the others are still talking about transformations but don't lump me in with that henceforth if you still are. I think I already made it clear that it doesn't bother me whether you like them or not, and I don't really want to talk about it or argue their merits in a context where you feel like you're being ganged up on. Maybe in an AD thread someday. We're cool there as far as I'm concerned. As for the rest, I thought I was just pointing out something obvious you've noted yourself, about select tropes often not being all there is to shows and making judgements off gifs can be super misleading. I was saying that to play the advocate for Star Driver since you can apply that reasoning to basically anything, and it definitely wasn't out of ill intent. Whether you want to watch it or not is obviously up to you though. How could I even care about Star Driver if I haven't watched it? I really don't know what else to say to convince you I'm not trying to cram mecha action, transformation sequences, or mahou shoujo (did I even mention that?) down your throat. My circlejerking around transformation sequences with Sape and co. wasn't directed at you and I don't think anything else I've said could be interpreted as being an attempt to "force" anything on you unless you're being seriously overly sensitive about it. That has nothing to do with me. As such I'd really rather drop it at this point. I still don't get how my initial post can be interpreted as anything more than a vague general point but you've made it exceptionally clear that what you're talking about isn't an area you're open to discussion about, so okay. His post is just forcing the conversation to go an for the sake of it despite my clear intentions of not wanting to prolong it. Everything he addresses has already been addressed by me myself in the posts he is replying to where I admit that I was short-fused and triggered. I even properly addressed his point about comparing star driver to gundam although I still find it extremely obvious that not being interested in star driver because not only is it mecha, but it is basically being described to me as an accumulation of stuff I either dislike or not really care about (mecha, transformation sequences, school stuff), while Gundam has a shitton of stuff I actually care about quite a lot so obviously I'd be willing to watch the latter but not the former. Not to mention that mecha fights in the context of realistic warfare with potential strategies and tactics and a show where the mecha aspect seem pure OTT sakuga-wank in a school setting obviously have vastly different appeals. Despite me addressing all that he still goes on about it as if I just ignored that part of his post. It's hard for me to interpret anything about that post as not just trying to provoke me since at that point I think I've said at least 3 times that it's just a personal preference and I don't really want to have to justify that. | @Pullman I don't think anyone here actually attacked your preferences as we just presented our own viewpoints on repetitiveness? I don't think that you are living your life wrongly, nor that your taste is shit, just because you find it tedious to sit through something like transformations, which ARE repetitive, but we each have our own coping mechanisms of sorts for rituals and formalities, and reasons we find it excusable. And that's not circlejerking by the way, if we have different reasons for agreeing on a common point. I don't find it weird of shocking that someone might disagree with me, as long as I'm allowed to have my own opinion. You are not even a minority in this case, but it's as if you are saying that if a minority has a contrasted opinion on something, the majority is somehow oppressing them just by thinking like that, and not even enacting it in any way. |

| This video really does sum up how disappointing this show wound up being while others get too hung up on just specific episodes and talking points this guy actually does a good job explaining where the show fundamentally messes up as a show regardless of political leanings. This show is honestly probably the most disappointed I have been in the past couple years, it has a couple decent to even good moments from the episodes ive watched (hell episode 1 was honestly kind of good) but everything in that video is 100% accurate to how problematic the show really is. Way too condescending, doesnt actually back up most of its points, shuts down different points of view in the "discussions" and just generally being a clusterfuck of too many conflicting tones. Its just a damned shame all around and I really think we needed a show like this was intended to be due to a general lack of scientific trust in many people today. |

| I really liked season 1 but man shingeki no bahumat virgin soul is blowing the first one out of the water, I highly recommend it to even people who dont like the first one since its new protagonist and generally darker story really makes it feel different than its predecessor and with 24 episodes to flesh it out instead of a measly 12 its pacing and directing is so much better in pretty much everyway.
