Just because someone is REALLY greedy doesn't keep someone else from being greedy. Nobody is arguing that he doesn't make quality content - he's the best DEV out there IMO. patrons are not paying for the game they are supporting a project they enjoy! as-long as he keeps production like Holy stated its not anyone else business except between the supporters and the dev

i agree with all the criticism that with all that money he should hire some help but that is my opinion does not make it true and does not make it right! the market defines those whom it rewards

besides considering his success as incentivozed people to produce new projects that is a great plus for me since i get to enjoy more stories, before it was all about the sex but for that i get pornhub i want proper stories, with decent sex options that do not exploit poor women or under aged girls, this niche fills that for me!

yes the division of the new market that is being created/expanded is unfair but so is life, if we made it all "fair" we would still be living in mud huts with a life expectancy of 23 years! nowadays our society is like 10 of thousands of diferent markets where if we´re smart and lucky those who can put 18 hours a day getting a productivity 3 times greater then the average are doing it instead of lazying it about on internet foruns complaining about others having more then they do!

specialization and standardization allows us to all be here on computers that 30 years would be impossible to have and 20 years ago would cost 1 billion to produce but nowadays cost like 3200 euros

i do not ignore the wealth inequality problem as its reflected in the GINI coefficient when applied to societies and the level of disruptive behavior it creates and i do find it worrying that for some people its better to starve along as their neighbor does not get a Ferrari

and yes for men up to a certain age wealth is not a house and a car but where they stand on the social hierarchy as their access to reproductive opportunities is not limited by absolute wealth but the relative wealth, but i do not wish to see the world burn out of stupid envy!

So yes i would love for DPC to be making millions if i get a new episode a month since that means we have growth and therefore everyone gets better overall in absolute terms some faster some slower! But for some people it seems its better if we get worse aslong as they are the ones getting worse slower!

hope this small synthesis helps explains some (not all nobody knows them all) of the problems!

I do lead that life. I believe millions of years of evolution has led to this exact point - A porn game girl's wallpaper with my dignity on the line. Or what little is left of it.

I akways keep the soundtrack on mute during playthroughs.

It's very intrusive and often times doesn't match up with what's going on in the game.

Usually, I'll put an ASMR chiropractic video on in the background when I play.

A Civil Lawsuit is a mechanism whereby one individual (or group of individuals) seeks redress of grievances from another. The Court's only mechanism for redressing a grievance is the awarding of assets.

That's not true, actually. Courts have powers beyond just awarding assets; that's how they can issue injunctions. I doubt anything like that would happen here, but if the MC keeps breaking into the Prep manor you never know.

The first step in filing a lawsuit is calculating damages and identifying assets. This is pretty straight forward. The party bringing a suit, the Plaintiff, lays out the damages they have suffered and identifies the Defendants assets that they want the court to award to redress those damages. This is the first hurdle and it's where this case ends. MC has no assets. The Judges clerk would look at the fact that MC has no assets and would then throw the case out. This is basically the Court's saying "this isn't our job" and moving on to the next case.

The next hurdle you have to clear is standing. Standing is basically the court deciding if you are in fact a party to the suit or not. If the Preps have Insurance, then they don't have Standing. The Insurance Company does.

Also, since the party was a fundraiser, Tybalt could certainly argue the MC is also on the hook for the lost revenue Alpha Nu Omega was unable to raise from its guests because that would not be covered by insurance. The judge might disagree, but I expect he would at least consider the argument first.

I agree that the MC probably can't afford to pay of these damages, but a) it would take a comprehensive examination of the MC's finances to establish that for certain and b) Tybalt could still take whatever the MC has, which would still be a bad thing.

Besides, the MC's lack of resources is precisely why Tybalt's threat is valid. Do you really think the MC knows how to challenge Tybalt's standing or show precedence against paying for lost revenue on his own? If he had the resources to hire a competent attorney, he could eventually get the case thrown out no matter what Tybalt does (assuming he and Derek avoid doing anything else stupid). The problem is that he doesn't.

I think the most important thing is that each episode serve as a solid entry in its own right (while still advancing advancing the game). I don't want tiny slices of story, even if they do come rapidly.

Within that context, I'd certainly prefer to forego more elaborate animations/more static renders for more frequent updates. Unfortunately, it's DPC's story and he's made it abundantly clear he prefers the latter. That's unfortunate and it's why I'm not an ongoing supporter. But I still find the game top notch, so I'm willing to pay a little money when it updates. Such is life.

I actually like the mini-games to an extent, but you could easily talk me into toning them down. The problem is that DPC seems to love designing and coding them. So not only is he not going to give them up, I suspect he would be far more likely to burn out if he were somehow forced to remove them. The "filler" in this case is load bearing.

It's a lot like the idea of hiring employees and forming a proper company. In theory it's the right move, but DPC wants to be an artist and not a businessman. In the end I can't really argue DPC's logic; I hate business, too. It sucks that we'll be waiting for a long, long time but I don't see a way around that. This game really is a labor of love, and there's no way to avoid the downsides that brings without also losing the upsides.

So we just have to hope it will work out for the best.

Thanks for the history of modern technology. There's still no reason for releases to be 6 months apart, nor for a game to take 7-10 years to complete.

The Court's injunctive power's only extend to the context of the case that they are trying. For instance you can't sue someone just with the object of making them shut up in public, yes a court can issue a gag order but only for speech related to an ongoing lawsuit, not as the objective of the suit itself.

Site me one case where anyone has received standing to sue for their deductable, that's the stupidest argument I've ever heard.

Based on what metric? DPC is a one man show making the game to his standards. He's clearly not loafing around, he just sets extremely high goals for each episode. The time it takes can't really be improved much.

We're certainly under no obligation to support him, but blaming him for not living up to our standards is a bit like dismissing Olympic sprinters by pointing to horse racing times: the one isn't a proper substitute for the other.

I'm not a lawyer, but here's a 5 minute Google search:

You'll note that towards the end the court specifically notes that insurance companies should include the insured's deductible as in subrogation so that the insured will know not to pursue their own case when the insurance company is also making a case.

The implication for our case is clear: if Tybalt's insurance company declines to go after the MC and just pays out, Tybalt can sue for the deductible. If it DOES go after the MC, Tybalt can't (safely) sue, but the point would be moot.

I stand by my previous claim: Tybalt may well lose the case, but he can damn well bring it to court if he really insists on it.

I think that the MC will in a later episode order something from the restaurant, and guess who shows up to deliver. Maya. If you told her about Quinn or not may have an impact in this scenerio.

I admit that I would also rather have a new EP every 3 months. But DPC definitely doesn't delay the releases to generate money. DPC works up to 18 hours a day and that shows me that DPC has a lot of fun and that DPC is emotionally attached to the game. This could also be the reason that DPC has no employees yet.

And there lies the problem. The further the story progresses, the larger the EP's become. I hope that DPC will eventually realize that they have reached their limit. With a small circle of employees, they would not lose control and could still work on the game themselves.

Maya's entire nature speaks completely against it. She would rather quit college than work at Quinn's restaurant.
